Ask before you book larger treatment
Health funds are not one-size-fits-all. Two people can be with the same fund and still have different waiting periods, annual limits, exclusions, and rebates. The useful thing is to check the details before treatment starts.
- Do I have general dental, major dental, or orthodontic extras cover?
- Are waiting periods finished for the item numbers in my quote?
- How much of my annual limit is still available?
- Is there a lifetime limit for orthodontic treatment?
- Can my dentist run a pre-treatment estimate before I decide?
What reception can help with
Once a dentist has written the plan, reception can help with pre-treatment estimates where your fund supports them. That estimate is not the same as a guarantee from the fund, but it gives you a clearer number before you decide.
